{"id":1970,"date":"2022-06-07T09:29:43","date_gmt":"2022-06-07T09:29:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ka204flow.eu\/?page_id=1970"},"modified":"2023-10-25T11:13:21","modified_gmt":"2023-10-25T11:13:21","slug":"c1-flow-in-the-classroom-flow-in-music-i","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/ka204flow.eu\/index.php\/c1-flow-in-the-classroom-flow-in-music-i\/","title":{"rendered":"C1 \u2013 Flow in the classroom &#038; Flow in music I"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Developing Emotional Intelligence at STEP Institute, Ljubljana, Slovenia<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The <em>Flow Team<\/em> was ready and enthusiastic to attend this enlightening training full of different activities thought to promote and instill in the participants the importance of developing emotional intelligence in all facets of our lives. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.step-institute.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">STEP Institute<\/a> designed a program of activities full of opportunities that led to the sharing of best practices and socializing. The training was held by this institution in the charming city of Ljubjiana, Slovenia, between Monday, 9<sup>th<\/sup> May \u201822 and Friday, 14<sup>th<\/sup> May \u201822. This was an opportunity to reunite with participants from previous movilities and to get to know new ones. Exchanges of greetings, comments and ideas happened while the participants enjoyed the wonderful setting of Ljubljana in a guided tour organized by our host organization.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"798\" src=\"https:\/\/ka204flow.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/canva-1024x798.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1976\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ka204flow.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/canva-1024x798.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/ka204flow.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/canva-300x234.jpg 300w, https:\/\/ka204flow.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/canva-768x599.jpg 768w, https:\/\/ka204flow.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/canva.jpg 1079w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Our tour took us through the main landmarks of the city and gave us the chance to learn about the history, traditions, culture and people of a, sometimes, unknown quaint town. Pre<a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/maps\/place\/Pre%C5%A1eren+Square\/@46.0514258,14.5038877,17z\/data=!3m1!4b1!4m5!3m4!1s0x47652d624c8985a3:0xdb1db0e48487df78!8m2!3d46.0514258!4d14.5060764?shorturl=1\">\u0161<\/a>eren square, designed by the famous architect Jo\u017ee Ple\u010dnik, the Dragon Bridge, so characteristic of this town, the Old Town, the site where the Central Market takes place and the Town Hall are some of the sights that were visited and enjoyed.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"alignnormal\"><div id=\"metaslider-id-1993\" style=\"max-width: 600px; This unique atmosphere was an excellent opportunity to have conversations not only pertaining to the<em> FLOW<\/em> project but also about other professional and personal matters.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"alignnormal\"><div id=\"metaslider-id-2024\" style=\"max-width: 600px; The morning was dedicated to carrying out activities that were conducive to a better understanding of what emotions are and how they happen to us. We learned about the <em>Theory of Constructed Emotions<\/em> and how our emotions are influenced by our culture, past and present experiences and environmental circumstances, among other factors. Among other activities, there was also a viewing of the <em>TED Talk<\/em> video called <em>You aren&#8217;t at the mercy of your emotions &#8212; your brain creates them<\/em>. Firstly, in small groups, we thought about some questions related to emotional intelligence individually and drew on a big piece of paper. Later, we discussed and delved into these topics. Once each group had had enough time to converse, everyone except one member of the group moved to work with a different group. Then, the person who didn\u2019t change groups had to explain these drawings to the new group members, what they represented and the conversations that they had sparked.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>People changed groups 3 times and, at the end, all together as a large group reflected on the answers to these questions and their implications on our professional and personal lives. This was the moment to \u201charvest\u201d our ideas, to collect our thoughts as if they were coffee beans. This harvest led to a collection of feelings, impressions, advice and reflections on how emotional intelligence has been, is and will always be present in our personalities, family, jobs, daily life, etc. It was a time to realize that people\u2019s relation with emotional intelligence is diverse and to have an exchange of best practices in order to improve in its use.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"width: 100%;\"><div style=\"position: relative; The whole <em>FLOW<\/em> team started the day early and set off on a trip to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bled.si\/en\/what-to-see-do\/attractions\/1\/lake-bled-\">Bled Lake<\/a>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This day, while visiting the lake or having a cup of coffee and tasting their famous <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bled.si\/en\/what-to-see-do\/cuisine\/bled-cream-cake\/2019092009512297\/bled-cream-cake\">Bled cream cake<\/a>, team members conversed about the project, their schools, their lives\u2026 becoming this a great opportunity to strengthen ties and make new connections. Some people climbed to&nbsp; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bled.si\/en\/what-to-see-do\/attractions\/4\/ojstrica\/\">Ojstrica<\/a> along a forest trail and enjoyed the captivating views from the top while others decided to row to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bled.si\/en\/what-to-see-do\/attractions\/2\/bled-island\">island and the church<\/a> in the lake. Some <em>FLOW<\/em> members even went <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lifeadventures.si\/trips\/rafting-on-sava-river\/\">rafting<\/a> on the Sava river.
